"I Thought I Was Going to Make a Poetic Film With My Brother" follows young filmmaker Ahmed as he documents his family's house in northern Egypt, set for demolition under a new government plan. Through this project, Ahmed seeks to reconnect with his younger brother by exploring their shared memories of the house and village. As they delve deeper, they uncover a deep wound that fractured their family's ties to the village. The older brother attempts to heal this wound and help his younger sibling find reconciliation.
