His film debut was Secangkir Kopi Pahit (1985), marking the beginning of his illustrious career in Indonesian cinema. Alex was known for his ability to portray strong and profound characters in various films, including Doea Tanda Mata (1985), Ibunda (1986), and Pacar Ketinggalan Kereta (1989). On February 13, 2015, Alex Komang passed away in Semarang, Central Java, due to liver cancer. His passing left a deep sorrow in the Indonesian film industry.
