Biography

Kelly Port is a distinguished and award-winning senior visual effects supervisor with a career spanning over 30 films at Digital Domain. For Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios’ blockbuster “Spider-Man: No Way Home,” Kelly played an integral role as the production-side visual effects supervisor, where he coordinated the delivery of more than 2,400 shots from 12 different vendors, earning his second Academy nomination and a VES nomination for his work. In 2019, Kelly received his first Oscar nomination for his pioneering work on “Avengers: Infinity War” in the Best Visual Effects category. He was instrumental in bringing the fully digital villain character, Thanos, to life with over 50 minutes of screen time. This accomplishment also earned him the prestigious Outstanding Visual Effects award at VES. Kelly reprised his role in the sequel, “Avengers: Endgame.” Notably, he has also overseen the creation of fully digital main characters in films such as “Maleficent.” His extensive portfolio includes contributions to films like “Thor,” “Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Lightning Thief,” “Star Trek,” “We Own the Night,” “Stealth,” “The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring,” “King Kong,” “Titanic,” and “Apollo 13.” Throughout his career, Kelly has collaborated with notable Hollywood directors, such as Jon Watts, The Russo Brothers, James Grey, Bill Condon, J.J. Abrams, Chris Columbus, and Kenneth Branagh. Currently, Kelly serves as the production-side visual effects supervisor and 2nd Unit Director for the upcoming Marvel television series, “Agatha All Along.” A member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences since 2008, Kelly has garnered multiple awards and nominations, including two Oscar nominations, BAFTA and VES nods, a Hollywood Film Award, and an LA Online Film Critics Society award for his exceptional visual effects work. Kelly is also a longtime member of the Director’s Guild of America.
