Biography

Khalid Boudou (1 October 1974) is a Dutch writer of Moroccan descent. Boudou started writing short stories and poems. He received the El Hizjra Literature Prize for his short story De Stemmendans (Dance of Voices). He is best known for his 2001 novel Het Schnitzelparadijs (Schnitzel Paradise), which was made into a film by Martin Koolhoven in 2005. In 2002 the book was awarded the Golden Ezelsoor. His second book, De President, was published in November 2005. The film version premiered in Dutch cinemas in September 2011. His third book, Pizza Mafia, was published in November 2007. It earned him the Jonge Jury debut prize. The book was made into a movie in 2011 by Tim Oliehoek.
