Along with rapid economic development, the city of Beijing has been sprawling in all directions, dumping enormous amounts of garbage in its suburban areas. The central point in Liu Wei’s video is on the one hand the constantly growing piles of garbage and on the other hand the local residents, mostly farmers, who have to maintain their subsistence by re-using this urban waste.
