Biography

Born in Florianópolis, SC/Brazil, Luis Felipe 'Luy' Macedo began his cinematic aspirations with 2D animation and small regional productions. At just 14 years old, Luy produced his first commercial short film ('Tempo,' 2022, directed by Giovanni Tavares), which had a limited theatrical release in cinemas in his hometown. With the visibility of the project, Luy received support from the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC) and the Colégio de Aplicação to direct and write the script for 'Anti-Aluno' — a short film entirely produced by public high school students. The film gained significant visibility within the university’s academic community, leading to his participation in lectures on culture and education, and winning awards at the IF-Sul de Minas School Festival (MG, Brazil) in the categories of 'Best Original Screenplay Short Film' and 'Best Direction,' all while he was still in his second year of high school.
