Yutaka Narui (成井 豊, Narui Yutaka, born October 8, 1961) is a Japanese director, screenwriter, and playwright from Saitama Prefecture. He is the representative of the theater company Caramel Box. He started writing under the alias Sumihiko Narui (成井 純彦, Narui Sumihiko). He is affiliated with Nappos United.
After graduating from Waseda University Department of Literature and working as a high school teacher, he founded the theater company Caramel Box in 1985, where he is in charge of directing and writing. Currently, in addition to his work at Caramel Box, he also does writing and directing for other companies, writing TV dramas, and acting as a lecturer. He is credited as a voice actor in the 1995 Japanese animated film “Whisper of the Heart”, produced by Studio Ghibli.
