Tarrell Christie is a writer, director, cinematographer, and editor based out of Cedar Falls, Iowa. He was born on February 8th, 1996 and began filmmaking in 2007 with his first home movie "Ghost Rider vs Catwoman". From that point on Tarrell began rapidly shooting short films and videos with his family and neighborhood friends during the summer, usually revolving around subjects he enjoyed like giant monsters, superheroes, horror, and ninjas.
In 9th grade he began creating films with another classmate named Luke Kreger, who also shared interest in movies. They began creating mainly horror movies under the names "Fear Filmz" and "Cannibal Crow Filmz". Once they reached high school a year later, they began a 3 year series of parodies and short films under the name LT Shorts. These short videos allowed them to touch on different genres, and helped further polish their skills as storytellers. During this time they competed and won awards in their school film festival, and had their films played on the public access channel. In their senior year they also edited and hosted the schools online news channel, Tiger Hi-Line.
Once high school ended Tarrell and Luke started their freelance video production company Lost Utopia Films, which produces short films as well as music videos and commercials. They also simultaneously created a Youtube channel under the same name to show their short films, as well as produce filmmaking tip videos, movie reviews, and more. Among these videos is the series "5 Things I Learned", which has them going in depth on what they learned with each film production. Further expanding and distributing their work and connections while working towards feature length films is one of their highest goals together.
