Biography

Emil Woerner is an American filmmaker, painter, and music producer from central Arkansas. Emil was drawn to cinema at a young age and as every new year passed he found freedom through expression and creativity. His work examines a broad range of themes, characters and emotions, best defined by his first feature directorial effort, The Skull and the Arm (2023). Stylistically, Emil has cultivated a brand known for surrealist elements, abstract imagery, abrasive and immersive sound design, and unnerving horror themed imagery. He also works as a film editor. Besides editing his own films, he has edited dozens of short films, the television pilot for Central (2019), and James Basham’s micro-feature The Yankee (2020). He looks forward to his next feature length directorial project, and is currently writing a psychological crime thriller titled Burn Out.
