Dr. Christina Adamou was a Lecturer in Television Studies at the University of Reading, UK. Her PhD thesis focused on Samuel Beckett's works for television and film. She has edited the collective volume The Actor Between the Stage and the Screen (Kastaniotis, 2008) and has published chapters and articles in Greece and abroad on the history of Greek television, the translation of television programs and gender representation through acting in genres action and superhero films. Her research interests are now focused on representations of the crisis in the media, while she also participates in the research project "The Chronicle of a Long Winter" which combines social psychology, film theory and audiovisual documentation to investigate the role of the economic crisis in the everyday life of people.
