A 15-year-old girl disappears in the 80s in Helsinki leaving behind a disrupted gang of local teens and a plastic bag of torn clothes in the neighboring forest. The local adults believe she has run away with a rock band.

Mirko Määttä moves in with his parents, Anne and Markku, in the apartment of his sick grandmother. The family decide to stay after the death of the grandmother, and Mirko quickly gets to know the other children in the neighborhood. What was supposed to be a normal summer holiday takes an unexpected turn when the neighbors son Kristian disappears without a trace.
