Toshiyuki and Chiyoko have reunited in Fukuoka but still feel the war's influence. They decide to incorporate a Korean food into their business.

Toshiyuki Umino marries Chiyoko, a fellow Japanese raised in Busan, Korea. They start a family and live happily but are torn apart by the war.
