It’s summertime and in a specially rigged school in North East London we welcome a new batch of 4 and 5 year olds from up and down the UK to the all-new Secret Life nursery. As before, our team of experts are watching all the action unfold from behind the scenes and they analyse and comment on the children’s behaviour and development. Professor Paul Howard-Jones, Dr Sam Wass and Dr Elizabeth Kilbey are joined by twobrand new experts in the form of Dr Laverne Antrobus and Dr Shona Goodall.
Across a gorgeous, sun-drenched summer holiday more than forty children of 4 and 5 years old converge on a brand new inner-city school that is rigged with cameras and wired for sound. This year a new raft of specially designed games will test everything from the children’s ability to handle a one day old chick, to their willingness to take risks, to seeing how well they can resist a 5-tier chocolate fountain. And this time, as well as giving insight into the children’s behaviour, our scientists -- Professor Paul Howard-Jones, Dr Sam Wass, Dr Elizabeth Kilbey and Dr Alison Pike -- also consider what may be going on inside their brains.
The documentary that lifted the lid on the riveting, uncensored drama of life in the nursery returns as series. It’s midsummer and over the course of the holidays more than 50 children between the ages of four and six come to a specially rigged school, where they meet each other for the first time, make friends, play together – sometimes harmoniously, sometimes less so – and learn skills that will stay with them forever. The action unfolds under the watchful eyes of three scientists, Professor Paul Howard-Jones, Dr Sam Wass and Dr Elizabeth Kilbey.
