Tan Jiahao (Xiong Tsai Xia) was born in Shunde, Guangdong in 1989 and graduated in 2012 from the School of Foreign Languages of South China Normal University, majoring in Russian. Nowadays living in Guangzhou, he is an editor and part-time rescue of stray animals. Since becoming a movie fan in 2008, Tan has been mainly active on Douban.com, focusing on film resource sharing, downloading technology, subtitle translation and introduction, Soviet Russian film history research, Japanese independent documentary research, film audiovisual collection, unpopular film mining, etc. Tan translated the Chinese subtitles of 167 foreign language films from 2009 to 2017. Since 2014, Tan has been based in the Pearl River Delta of Guangdong and started to create amateur images with the theme of "geography" with limited resources. His video works have been shortlisted successively in Beijing Independent Film Festival, Beijing International Short Film Group Exhibition, Chongqing Youth Film Festival, Tainan Wushantou and Southern Film Festival, Ishigaki Island International Documentary Film Festival, Taiwan International Documentary Film Biennale and other film exhibitions. In addition, Tan served as the reviewer of the Shanghai International Film Festival for three consecutive years from 2018 to 2020.
