Tzu-fan dates Tang-tang, Ta-wei and Chou Ming to visit Chi-yung hoping to persuade him to lead a new life. However, Chi-yung reacts indifferently and Chou Ming flares up and hits him. Just then, Ho-chu arrives home. She witnesses .the whole scene-and bursts into tears. Chi-yung,-moved by her, feels regretful-and 'intends to turn a new leaf: With the help of Wai-shun, Tzu-fan is able to assist Chi-yung to continue his F.6 study in his mother school. Chi-yung feels very grateful. By creating some opportunities, Chi-yung serves as a match-maker to Ho- chu and Uncle Ku. He persuades Uncle Ku to propose marriage to Ho-chu, to which the latter agrees shyly. Ta-Wei gets admitted into the television's Actor Training Course and thus decides to develop along the paths of singing and acting. Shun-hsing and Yi-fang give him encouragement. After deciding to continue his studies overseas, Tzu-fan begs Wai-shun and Ka-hsin to accompany him to America……

Chi-yung has depressed to a very low level and decided to give up his studies. Despite Ho-chu and Uncle Ku's incessant persuasion, Chi-yung does not change his mind. On seeing Chi-yung's frustration, Chou-ming is very worried, but he cannot alter the situation. Besides, since Tzu-fan is harnessed by his family problem, he does not express concern over Chi-yung's setback. Tzu-fan is dissatified when he finds out that Wai-shun brings his girlfriend, Mei-lun, back to his home. Being unhappy, he pays a visit to Ka-hsin. When he discovers that Ka-hsin has troubles lover her public and private affairs, Tzu-fan shows greater sympathy over her misfortune. When Ka-hsin uncovers Wai-shuns secret courtship with Mei-lun, she rushes home to find out the truth. Then, Tzu-fan seizes the chance and tries to convince them to resume their past relationship. However, Wai-shun is indifferent to Tzu-fan's suggestion……

Episode 10

Tzu-fan reaches Hsin's home and discovers that she is incapable of doing housework. On the next day, Tzu-fan pays Ka-hsin a visit. When Tzu-fan reaches her office, he discovers that Ka-hsin is incapable of handling tedious work. When the truth is revealed, Tzu-fan feels sad. Being harnessed by his emotional setback, Tzu-fan starts a conflict with - punks in a bar. Unfortunately, Tzu-fan is encountered with brunt resistance. Later, Chi-yung happens to face the confron tation. He saves Tzu-fan from danger. As a result, they reconcile their differences and help each other to vent their boredom. Tzu-fan discloses his encounter with Chi-yung to Ho-chu. Ho-chu discreetly deduces that Chi-yung has taken refuge at Uncle Ku's home. Then, Ho-chu breaks into Uncle Ku's home. Having found Chi-yung out at Uncle Ku's home, Cho-chu scolds both of them severely. Uncle Ku persuades Chi-yung to vent his dissatifaction……

Episode 9

Ho-chu feels vexed because Chi-yung has disappeared for a very long time. Thanks to her worry, Ho-chu bursts into anger in the police- station. Then, Uncle Ku comforts her and promises her to find Chi- yung. Tang-tang pays a visit to Chou-ming's home and tries to find Chi- yung. As a matter of coincidence, she meets Ho-chu. However, Ho- chu blames Tang-tang severely and accuses Tang-tang for Chi-yung's disappearance. Tang-tang feels guilty and helps to find Chi-yung by posting posters in the street. She aims to find Chi-yung as soon as possible. Actually, Chi-yung stays at Uncle Ku's home because he is not brave enough to face the reality. To refrain Ho-chu from worrying, Chi- yung phones back home, saying that he is safe. Still, Chi-yung insists on not telling Ho-chu his where about. On hearing Chi-yung's telephone, Ho-chu turns worry into anger. Ho-chu misunderstands that Chi-yung takes refuge at Shun-hsing's home……

Episode 8

Ta-wei substitutes Chi-yung as the soloist in the competition. Although the result is far from ideal, he fortunately can enter into semi-final. However, their happiness is tarnished by Tzu-fan's withdrawal. Shun- shing calms him down and persuades him to reconsider his withdrawal. Ho-chu worries very much since Chi-yung does not return home throughout the night. She then goes out to search for him. To speed up the work, Ho-chu goes back to the police-station and asks her colleagues for help. Uncle Ku points out the reason why Chi-yung has disappeared. He thinks that Chi-yung's disappearance is due to Ho-chu's pressure and so he leaves home. However, Ho-chu does not agree with Uncle Ku and finally they come into conflict. Actually, Chi-yung's disappearance is basically due to his failure to face examination failure and setback in love affair. Unintentionally, Ho-chu discovers that they are involved in a love triangle……

Episode 7

Ho-chu misinterpretes Chi-yung's recent sign of unhappiness as his worry over his examination results, which is in fact due to his setback in courting Tang-tang. So, she has created increased pressure on Chi-yung indirectly by consoling him. During Chi-yung's visit to Tang-tang, Yi-fan hints to him that they should see each other less, for the sake of Tang-tang's future. Chi- yung leaves desperately. Tzu-fan, unable to accept the reality of the divorce between Wai-shun and Ka-hsin, leaves home, gets drunk at Shun-hsing's home and loses control of himself deliberately. Although Tzu-fan tries to persuade his parents to reconcile their differences after he has calmed down, Wai-shun proclaims it is an impossibility. Tzu-fan feels desperate. Knowing that his School Certificate Examination results are far from The ideal, Chi-yung feels hopeless and gets sick……

Episode 6

With Yi-fan's permission, Tang-tang intends to celebrate Shun-hsing's birthday by holding a party at Tzu-fan's home. Tzu-fang agrees immediately. Tzu-fan worries about the sour relationship between Wai-shun and Ka- hsin and wants to talk it over with Tang-tang. Unintentionally, he discovers that Chi-yung and Tang-tang are very intimate. With growing jealousy, he fights with Chi-yung. Both meet Shun-hsing'scondemnation. While Chi-yung and Tzu-fan want to withdraw from the band simultaneously, Chou-ming and Ta-wei persuade them not to. On the other hand, Yi-fang breaks up with Shun-hsin over the latter's charge against Tang-tang's playfulness with love relationship. Under the persuasion of Ming and Wei, Chi-yung and Tzu-fan decide not to quit the band. Since Chi-yung's love for Tang-tang has not died down, he continues to court her and meets positive responses. Assured of success, Chi-yung feels proud……

Episode 5

Shun-hsing asks every band member to compose a new song so as to select the best to join the Contest. Chi-yung and Tzu-fan are highly interested in the idea, whereas Chou Ming and the others find it difficult. Chi-yung has no inspiration when composing the new song. However, the talk with Ho-chu has stimulated his feelings towards his father and consequently he composes a new song, 'The Heart Which Is Dead'. Tzu-fan, discovering the unusual behaviour of Wai-shun and Ka-hsin, gets inspiration and dedicates his new song to them. After listening to all the newly-composed songs, Shun-hsing selects Tzu-fan's song for the Contest and Chi-yung and Tang-tang to be the singers. Ta-wei feels very disappointed at not being chosen as the soloist. Then, Shun-hsing comforts him. Tzu-fan invites Tang-tang to practise singing at his home, and consequently, their relationship has progressed a lot……

Episode 4

Since Ta-wei's singing skill is neither up to standard nor matchable with Chi-yung's group, he is rejected from joining the band. Shun- hsing advises him to cultivate better relationship with the group members first. Later, Ta-wei breaks up with Chou Chai and gets accommodation in teh Piano Company with Shun-hsing's permission. Shun-hsing misses Yi-fang and thus goes to the Night Club to support her, begging forgiveness. Yi-fang is in fact in deep love with him, so the two make up their quarrel. Ta-wei makes use of Shun-hsing's reputation to get a .job in a pub, which proves to be unsuccessful due to his poor singing. Understanding Ta-wei's effort, Shun-hsing asks Yi-fang to give advice to him. Nevertheless, Ta-wei feels degraded when Yi-fang asks him to gain experience through becoming a dancer accompanying her singing……

Episode 3

Yi-fang, angry at Shun-hsing's proposed delay of their marriage, quarrels with him and declares to leave him. Shun-hsing volunteers to be the manager of Chi-yung's group and intends to organize them into a band in order to enter into a singing contest. Chi-yung and the others agree to the suggestion, however, since they have not reached the age of twenty-one, they have to seek parental permission. Tzu-fan then suggests the idea of joining the band to his parents. Ka-hsin, for the sake of respecting his interest, agrees reluctantly. Under Tang-tang's strenuous request, Yi-fang consents unwillingly as well. Chou Ming gets approval in-a gambling way. Chi-yung dares not raise the idea to Ho Chu himself, so he persuades Uncle Ku to do it for him. Ho Chu rejects bluntly, despite Chi-yung's promise to study hard. Uncle Ku reveals that Yung's father is also a singer, who has died in a shipwreck when eloping with another female singer……

Chou Ming proposes that Chi-yung go to rehearse singing at Shun-hsing's Piano Company and the latter agrees. Chin Ta-wei goes to Shun-hsing's Piano Company for an interview for a piano teacher, but Shun-hsing only agrees to hire him as an all-round worker. Ta-wei turns it down, but later accepts it against his will when sneered at by his brother-in-law Chu Cheng. Shun-hsing agrees to appear for an interview by a D.J. on the air, but he leaves the Station in anger on finding that it is a topic on Tony's past. He buys a drink in a Night Club and meets Tony by chance. Tony tries to reconcile with him, but Shun-hsing jeers at him under the influence of liquor. Elated after the drink, Shun-hsing proposes to Yi-fang and she is both surprised and rejoiced. Seeing that Ku has been dating Chu for years, Chi-yung tries to arrange their match, but Chu turns it down cold……

Episode 1

Lin Chi-yung sitting for this year's School Certificate exam lost his father in earlier years and lives with his mother Chu. Chu exercises a strict rule over him, and he gets a breathing spell only through the help of his neighbor friend Chou Ming and sister Chou Wan. Ting Yi-fang and Wu Shun-hsing have known each other for years. Yi-fang is on the point of proposing marriage to him herself, but as he is flared up by the receipt of admission tickets from Tony for his concert, she has to console him instead. Chi-yung and Chou Ming watching a show clash with Ting Tang-tang and Tzu out of misunderstanding, and are unfavorably impressed by each other. Chi-yung was originally arranged to sing at a school party, but the headmaster later puts Tzu Fan on to sing the same song at the last minute. Resenting this, Chi-yung appears on the stage to compete in singing with him, much to the displeasure of both……
