We travel 300 years in the past to a time when the Maratha Empire was flourishing. A young Ahilya is seen working on her embroidery, as her parents observe and criticize her. Soon, it gets apparent how society was driven by gender roles when Gautama explains the throne's significance to Khanderao. Later, Ahilya finds out that her newlywed friend, Renu is finding it difficult to live with her in-laws.
