Kate takes the kids back to their organic food provider. The Amish farmer is famous for supplying excellent organic products, especially fresh fruit and vegetables. Once they return home, Kate immerses herself into preparing a delicious, healthy dinner for the family, and then she hosts a game night with the kids. Later, after a long and exhausting day, Kate must take Cara on a late-night trip to the doctor.
While away, Kate's planned a special day with the boys and takes them to explore the USS North Carolina battleship. Meanwhile, Jon gets some quality time with Mady and Cara when they ride go-carts, walk a high rope and play arcade games at a park back home! After the battleship adventure, Kate sets out to find a barber shop as the boys are in desperate need of a haircut. Even though they've only had one barber in their five years, Kate's determined. How will the boys and Kate handle going to a new barber for the first time?
While Jon oversees the installation of new cabinets in the kitchen, Kate and the kids get into some fun in the sun at the beach. In addition to cooking the kids a special breakfast, Kate recreates summer fun for all the kids, allowing them to body paint with pudding yet again, despite her natural desire for cleanliness and order. Soon enough, it's time to go home, and check out the changes to the kitchen. Will the reveal of the new cabinets and kitchen meet Kate's expectations?
With the warm summer weather and a backyard at their feet, the Gosselin kids are anxious to get outside and spend a night camping out. Sleeping in a tent is not exactly Kate's idea of a relaxing evening, even if it is in her own backyard, but she is determined to make it work so that her kids can have a fun campout. The kids can't wait to sleep under the stars, but Kate still has to figure out how to do things that she never thought she'd be able to do, like setting up multiple tents and starting a campfire by herself! Will the demands of outdoor camping be too much for Kate, or will a campout with eight kids prove to be surprisingly fun?
With eight growing kids, the kitchen has always been a critical room in the Gosselin household. Though the family finally has the kitchen space they've long needed, they need to revamp their cabinets to maximize space and efficiency. The challenge is that Kate didn't realize that renovating the kitchen would result in being without her kitchen for almost two weeks! The thought of doing dishes in the bathtub proves too much for Kate, and she decides to trade stress for relaxation by taking the kids to the beach while Jon manages the cabinet installations. Can Kate escape stress or will the all-too-familiar challenges of parenting eight kids on the road become an obstacle once again?
