Ewout goes along with the perpetrator of a stabbing who is allowed on leave for the first time after a year and a half in prison. He also talks to André, an employee in a department for serious psychiatric problems, and his mentor child.

Ewout walks with the people in white suits who appear when something criminal happens somewhere: the team of the Forensic Investigation in Rotterdam. They come across things that the average citizen does not want to see, because it is simply too dirty or sinister. Ewout discovers who these people are and what their motivation is to do this extreme work.
Ewout participates in the judicial institution of Bonaire, the prison of the Caribbean Netherlands. He discovers that a weapon is quickly reached on the island and starts talking with convicted murderers. During a search, a forbidden telephone is found and Ewout speaks to a father and son who are in the same cell.
