When he notices that the Little Red-Haired Girl is looking in his direction, Charlie Brown becomes extremely embarrassed and puts his paper sack over his head. With the paper sack covering his face, Charlie Brown continues to talk about how sad he is that the Little Red-Haired Girl does not even know him, much to Linus' disgust. Linus berates his friend for feeling sorry for himself instead of simply introducing himself to the Little Red-Haired Girl. Charlie Brown decides that Linus is right. He goes over to sit on the same bench as the Little Red-Haired Girl. Unfortunately for Charlie Brown, he is only brave enough to sit on the bench after the Little Red-Haired Girl has left.
