The White Guard agent Strelok tries to kill Stalin, but Vlasik safes his life from the assassination. Stalin's eldest son, Yakov, meets his true love and is about to get married. However, the conflict between father and son flares up.

1927 Moscow. A young operative of OGPU, a village boy, Nikolai Vlasik, enters the service as Stalin's personal guard. Vlasik is inexperienced but devoted. He takes care of Stalin's safety and his personal life. As time goes by, Vlasik becomes Stalin's chief of security.
