During the break German girl joins Hem to Patan. She likes Hem's family & gets flabbergasted to know about their traditions.

Hem passes the entrance eligibility test to get an admission in GIR. His girlfriend Uma is afraid that Hem's talents will drive them apart. She suggests formalizing their relationship. In order to anchor Hem, his father agrees to get him engaged. However Uma's father rejects their proposal.

Hem, the youngest male child in the last surviving family of traditional Patola weaver, demonstrates his robotic project which impresses a renowned scientist, Dr. Desai. He instantly identifies Hem as genius. Dr. Desai insists Hem to attempt an entrance exam for further studies which Hem's father declines.
