Dieter and Kevin are almost halfway through their journey and receive a surprise visit from Jacotte Brokken to celebrate. During their boat trip they are pulled over by the shipping police. In Klein-Willebroek they can have lunch with a couple who live along the water. Kevin and Dieter also sail along the Zennegat where they are warmly welcomed on a houseboat and can stay there. They make a stopover in Lier and taste the Lierse regional specialty. They then end up in Viersel at a bison farm run by a sympathetic family.
Kevin and Dieter wake up in Sint-Martens-Leerne and decide to sail straight to Ghent. They are caught in heavy rain and thunder and are forced to take shelter. In Ghent they cannot get under the low bridges with De Goudvis, and they need help to take down their roof. They can go for a barbecue with a young Ghent couple and their group of friends. The next day they sail to Schellebelle with a stopover in Merelbeke. They get to know a lot of new people.
Dieter and Kevin design and build their boat. After a warm farewell to their family, they set sail with De Goudvis. It promises to be a very exciting first day of sailing. They have several cordial encounters in Kortrijk, Ooigem, Astene and Sint-Martens-Leerne, where they are always received very hospitably.
