Paul's back from a work attachment in Papua New Guinea and Dolly's thrilled to have the family all under one roof again. Only problem is, Paul's behaving more strangely than usual. Rosnah thinks it's because he's going to get married, but trying to hide it from everyone. Are wedding bells really ringing? Ronnie decides to turn over a new leaf after Teck has a heart to heart, man to man talk with him.
Denise's boyfriend, Adam gets spooked on a midnight military exercise in the jungle. Denise insists there must be a logical explanation. Rosnah and Yusof's son Johari, comes home for a visit and makes a big impression on Ronnie. Yusoff can't figure out how he lost two week's earnings on the way to the bank. Thank goodness Hassan's phone is ringing off the hook with calls from new babysitting customers.
Ronnie gets into a mega mess when he boldly announces that Microsoft chairman Bill Gates will give the talk at the business seminar he's organising. Rosnah wants Yusof to shave off his moustache when she thinks that the moustache is making him unreliable. Daisy visits a dentist and finds him witty and charming. They go out on a date, and Daisy discovers a shocking truth about him.
Rosnah gets a shot at stardom when she's offered a lucrative recording contract, and promised a world tour. It's a dream come true. But she turns it down. Denise isn't daddy's little girl anymore. Teck's against Denise having a steady boyfriend. She plans for Teck to get to know Adam better, so guess who's coming for dinner? Dolly's spring cleaning. Teck's unhappy that she's going to give his favourite old shirt to the karung guni man.
The Tan's kaypoh neighbour is cooking up a storm for a National Day Cook-off and Teck quickly becomes her biggest fan. Dolly smells a fish and the good fight begins! Teck looks after his supplier's prize-winning parrot, but can't make it sing! Is Yusof the parrot expert he claims to be? Will Ronnie have to line up for National Day Parade tickets?
Michael returns home from Australia to attend a friend's wedding as Best Man, and also to 'rekindle' a relationship with his friend's sister whom he has a crush on while studying in Australia. Meanwhile, Daisy and Rosnah go in search for pop star in Daisy's lemondae advertisement. Lisa finally discovers it was Ronnie who sent the threatening letter. Much to Ronnie's dismay, she finds the letter, and him amusing.
After Ah Siang storms out of the house in Part 1, Teck has difficulty locating Ah Siang. He doesn't answer Teck's pages or phonecalls and even drops out of the NTUC course. Teck is disappointed with Ah Siang for giving up so easily. But when Teck remembers the good old days when Ah Siang used to stand up for Teck and look after him like a younger brother, Teck realises he shouldn't give up so easily on Ah Siang, even when Ah Siang has given up on himself. Teck locates Ah Siang and manages to persuade him to go back to the Skill Redevelopment Programme, and with the help of the NTUC course co-ordinator, Ah Siang is able to retake his exams. The missing item is located and Teck feels sorry for ever doubting Ah Siang's innocence. Siang manages to come through with flying colours. AH Siang receives his certificate with tears in his eyes. Ronnie is awakened every morning at the same time by a neighbour's unusally loud alarm clock. He gets obsessed in finding out who the neighbour is.
Ah Teck meets a childhood friend, Ah Siang, an ex-seaman working in the shipyard. Dolly is not comfortable with Ah Siang, but Ah Teck thinks she's just being paranoid. Rosnah gets an ugly bowl from Yusof's relative. She hate it and gives it to Dolly, who in turn gives it to Daisy. Then Rosnah discovers, to her horror, thaat the bowl is a valuable antique. Meanwhile, Denise gets nervous about her first 'official' date with her new boyfriend, Adam.
Dolly makes the amazing discovery that she has a knack for palm reading. Ronnie tries to make a quick buck as she peeps into the future of her family and friends. While the cat's away, the mouse will play. Yusof's looking forward to Rosnah's holiday and has lots of exciting plans to keep himself occupied. Denise has been hit by Cupid's arrow and she has to make a painful decision between a best friend and a boyfriend.
Time for a little face-lift at Teck's minimart. Or rather, a ceiling-lift - especially when the plaster had to fall right on Ah Teck's head. But this time, Teck decides to get help, much to the dismay of Ronnie and; Hock Seng. But help arrives from a totally unexpected quarter, in the guise of Eric, long lost relative and Morris Minor mechanic, and repairman of everything electronic. So, of course, Rosnah isn't going to let Yusof get away with not painting his Mee Rebus stall ceiling as well - despite the fact that he doesn't even have one. Compared to all this neighbour infighting, Daisy's promotion and trying to hire an assistant is nothing. It's just driving her nuts, that's all.
Hard-working, penny-pinching Tan Ah Teck has brought his family with his own bare hands (and with Hock Seng's as well). But now, Teck reveals his secret dream - and to Dolly's dismay, it had to be ballroom dancing, complete with a rose in mouth. But Teck is not the only one with a hidden desire - which is why Denise starts finding all sorts of romantic presents at the door. Who is her mysterious secret admirer? Is he clever? Is he stupid? Or is he as wildly ambitious as brother Ronnie, who suddenly dreams of being an artist?
