The tension is still increasing between Miyuki and Nakajima. The chief has a new assignment for everyone: to patrol for speeders taking residential road short-cuts that are off-limits during school/daytime hours. After lunch, Natsumi senses there’s still aloofness between Miyuki and Nakajima. She confronts Nakajima but he gets upset and leaves. Natsumi then confronts Miyuki and Miyuki responds with a SLAP! Uh oh.
Nakajima struggles with the possibility that Miyuki might be in a relationship with Honda-san. He imagines several scenarios where she dumps him. Nakajima tries in some situations to tell her his feelings, but ends up as usual changing the subject. In the meantime, Natsumi returns to Boukutou on special assignment. They all have dinner together, but Nakajima goes off early to think about things more. He goes to a beach and helps some kids catch a hat that’s fallen in the water.
Natsumi packs and travels to the training grounds of her new job. Miyuki ponders some more and then starts shopping for herself and also for some gifts she can give her friends. Miyuki drops by the Zapper store to give Honda’s daughter Megumi a gift. But Honda just left for the bus station, and Megumi calls his cellphone. Miyuki goes to the bus stop to give the cellphone to Honda. At the bus stop they talk for a while and Miyuki breaks down and cries on Honda’s lap. Nakajima spots only the last part where they are hugging.
Natsumi thinks about her promotion to the special forces. She talks with her boyfriend about it, and he believes that’s what she always wanted and he’ll support her. Miyuki realizes the reality that she could be dependent on Natsumi. Miyuki goes wandering around and ends up at a car parts showcase she sees Honda-san. They have a heart-to-heart talk about what it means to let go for someone’s career.
Chief tells Natsumi that he has something important to tell her in private. Natsumi thinks Chief might still have some feelings for her. So she struggles between her feelings for Chief and her boyfriend who happens to be in town. Eventually, the Chief gets some time alone with her, and it turns out he was recommending Natsumi for a promotion.
Daimaru’s wife Sena shows up at Nakajima’s house, cooking and cleaning. It turns out she and Daimaru had a fight over Daimaru’s forgetting the day they first met. After having Sena over at the gals’ place, the gang try to figure ways for them to get back together. But the couple is strong willed. Nakajima tries to talk Daimaru into apologizing, but he refuses. Nothing seems to be working. Sena goes driving to their special place on Sunday and meets a guy who still likes her and starts driving aggressively against her, but Daimaru then shows up and all is well.
Nakajima rescues a cat and the gang wants to celebrate. He gets drunk and calls Miyuki who’s running late, to propose and ends up telling her he needs more space from her. Whooops! In the meantime, there’s an assignment where Nakajima and Miyuki are forced to couple up undercover to unravel a food cart related car stereo/equipment theft.
Goukon is a group date thing that Yoriko gets the gang to try out for a night. Saori doesn’t think it’s appropriate, so the gang spins it around and convince her to go along as an “undercover cop”. It turns out there’s been a purse stealer who’s been frequenting those events. Will Saori be able to do her duty and still have some fun?
