As a flock of Mike Upchats arrive at Polly's, it seems that the previous Michael had quite the enterprise going on with his raffles. Maggie has the perfect solution: the first of the bunch to arrive back with a woman on his arm will have exclusive right to the name.

As ever, a girl has caught Mike's attention. With a bit of 'help' from Polly and Maggie, he's almost engaged, married, divorced, and father to an expanding group of children.

When Mike Upchat moves to California, he raffles his names and identities, effects, personality, and to some extent his reputation, to ... well, Mike Upchat. With a little help from a casual acquaintance, Mike polishes off his act - if not a plate of spaghetti bolognese.
